Shell's Wonderful World Of Golf Vol 22: Golf VideoShell’s Wonderful World of Golf was a weekly television series that aired from 1962 through 1970. This video is a golf match between Bert Yancey, Tony Jacklin and Roberto DeVicenzo, played at the Karen Country Club, in Kenya, aired January 18, 1969. Built it 1931, the Karen Country Club just outside Nairobi, Kenya, is a tree lined par 72 golf course that stretches out over 6,800 yards. The altitude of the course, 4500 feet above sea level, gives the golfer the advantage of longer drives. Bert Yancey won seven PGA Tour events in a career that has spanned 24 years. The Floridian led the 1968 U.S. Open for three rounds before falling to Lee Trevino. He is currently playing on the Senior PGA Tour. Tony Jacklin gained worldwide attention in 1969 when he became the first Englishman to win the British Open since Max Faulkner in 1951. Jacklin won the U.S. Open in 1970 and captained four Ryder Cup Teams. Roberto DeVicenzo is Argentina’s gift to the golfing world. He has won 4 PGA events, 1967 British Open, and represented Argentina in the World Cup a record 17 times.
