Shell's Wonderful World Of Golf Vol 24: Golf VideoShell’s Wonderful World of Golf was a weekly television series that aired from 1962 through 1970. This video is a golf match between Billy Casper and Doug Sanders played at The Country Club, just outside Boston, Massachusetts and aired January 29, 1966. The Country Club was America’s first true country club, opening for play in 1893. It was the site of Francis Ouimet’s victory in the 1913 U.S. Open. The 6,800 yard par 71 course winds through thick woods of elm, oak and maple and features big greens and tight fairways. Billy Casper, one of the game’s most consistent players, reached prominence in 1958 when he won four PGA Tour events. The next year he won the first of two U.S. Opens and went on to win 51 PGA Tour victories. He represented the U.S. on a record of nine Ryder Cup Teams. Colorful is the only way to describe Doug Sanders. A product of the state of Georgia, Sanders backed up his fun-loving demeanor with a strong game that amassed 19 PGA Tour victories. His first, the Canadian Open, he won as an amateur. This golf video is approximately 60 minutes in length and a great addition for your golf collection. |
