Shell's Wonderful World Of Golf Vol 27: Golf VideoShell’s Wonderful World of Golf was a weekly television series that aired from 1962 through 1970. This video is a golf match between Doug Sanders and Chi Chi Rodriguez played at Dorado Beach Golf Club, in Puerto Rico and aired March 1, 1964 and pitted two of the game’s most colorful players. The Dorado Beach Golf Club is a 7,000 yard, par 72 design susceptible to the Atlantic breezes that constantly pound the Puerto Rican coast. Architect Robert Trent Jones ensured excitement by setting up the course so the wind is felt from all four quarters during each round. Colorful is the only way to describe Doug Sanders. A product of the state of Georgia, Sanders backed up his fun-loving demeanor with a strong game that amassed 19 PGA Tour victories His first, the Canadian Open, he won as an amateur. Chi Chi Rodriguez, born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, is still one of the game’s most beloved players. A winner of 8 PGA Tour events, he represented Puerto Rico in 12 World Cup competitions and continues to find success on the Senior Tour.
