Shell's Wonderful World Of Golf Vol 30: Golf VideoShell’s Wonderful World of Golf was a weekly television series that aired from 1962 through 1970. This video is a golf match between Al Geiberger, Peter Alliss and Dan Sikes, played at Mauna Kea Golf Club, in Hawaii and aired February 1, 1969. The Mauna Kea Golf Club, located on Hawaii’s big island is a 6,800 yard, par 72 resort course designed by Robert Trent Jones. Carved out of lava rock, it features swaying palms and huge greens. Al Geiberger has been one of the game’s favorites ever since he joined the PGA Tour in 1960. In a career that spanned 27 years, Al won 11 PGA Tour events, including the 1966 PGA Championship, and played on two Ryder Cup Teams. Peter Alliss, son of British great Percy Alliss, was an accomplished amateur golfer in England before making his way into the professional ranks. As a professional, he became known as one of the game’s fiercest match players, appearing on 8 Ryder Cup Teams from 1953 to 1969. Dan Sikes graduated from the University of Florida with a law degree in 1960, but chose to play the PGA Tour instead. In his 20 year career, he racked up six victories and made the 1969 Ryder Cup Team. This golf video is approximately 60 minutes in length and a great addition for your golf collection. |
